Located just south of downtown Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach is world famous for its sugar-white sand beaches and emerald-green waters. In fact, Pensacola Beach was recently selected as one of TripAdvisor's Top 25 Beaches in the U.S., and our bordering neighbor to the east and west, the Gulf Islands National Seashore, was selected as the #3 beach in the U.S. and ranked in the top 25 worldwide. Both beaches are winners of TripAdvisor's 2013 Traveler's Choice Awards.
I feel so blessed to call this area my home. It is the perfect mixture of year-round locals and seasonal visitors, enjoying the vacation feeling without getting too crowded or losing the small-town family feeling. I love to see everyone out biking, jogging and walking to the beach. There are nice hotels and restaurants, and there are still quiet, secluded areas like Fort Pickens and the Gulf Islands National Seashore where you'd swear there is no else around for miles.
Unlike some coastal areas, Pensacola Beach has housing options for all budgets, from condos to Southern Living designed waterfront dream homes.
The more time you spend here, the more you realize that this is a community with people who support the island churches, clubs and elementary school.
Pensacola Beach Elementary School is the home of the sandpipers, 100+ students from kindergarten through fifth grade. It is a public charter school, generously supported by locals through contributions of money and countless volunteer hours. PBES is a National Blue Ribbon School, consistently high scoring in all assessments.
Pensacola Beach Elementary has received an “A” ranking for several years in a row.
Other Awards include:
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation
- Golden School Award for 15 years
- Red Carpet School
- Five Star School Award
Five Star School Award
PBES has received the Five Star School Award each year since 1998. We are one of only sixteen schools in the district to achieve this status and we are looking forward to retaining.
After completing Fifth Grade at the Beach School, most children attend Middle and High School in nearby Gulf Breeze which is part of the Santa Rosa County School District.
Everyone knows each other at the "beach school", and the principal, Jeff Castleberry (Mr. C), will help your child out of the car in the morning or walk them across the street on their bicycle. We are so grateful to have such a fabulous school right down the road!
